Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale is one of the world's busiest cruise ports, and a huge share of its guests drive in from South and Central Florida.
Most cruisers reach Fort Lauderdale by car. From Hollywood, for example, it is about 8 miles, about 15 minutes, via I-95 to I-595 East into the port. See the Hollywood to Fort Lauderdale route or the Fort Lauderdale port overview for more drive markets.
Ships that typically use Cruise Terminal 18 include:
On-site parking at Port Everglades runs a flat $20 a day for a standard vehicle and $25 for an oversized one, the same at the Heron and Palm garages and the surface lots, while private off-site lots advertise rates from about $7 to $9 a day before taxes, fees and shuttle. You are billed for each day your car is parked, counting the day you return and every day at sea, so a 7-night sailing is typically 8 days. On a full sailing day the closest spaces go first, so a guaranteed reserved spot near the terminal is worth locking in.
Portside is not at Port Everglades yet. Joining is free, and it is how we decide where to open next. If your cruise is 90 or more days out, that gives us the runway to secure a lot near the terminal and hold a spot for you before you sail.
