The Port of New Orleans draws cruisers driving in from across the Gulf South, from Houston to the Florida Panhandle. Downtown New Orleans parking is tight and pricey, so a reserved lot with a shuttle to the terminal is a smart alternative. On-site parking at Port of New Orleans runs about $26 to $30 a day by cruise length at the Erato Street garage (Carnival) and the 100 Poydras garage for Julia Street (Norwegian and Royal Caribbean), plus $1 a day to reserve, while private off-site lots run about $15 to $20 a day before taxes and fees. Port NOLA charges for the length of the cruise, so a 7-day Norwegian cruise is billed as 7 days at $180, or $187 with the $1 a day reservation fee. Reserving ahead is the way to guarantee a spot on a busy Norwegian embarkation day.
